DNA/RNA Chimera



    To generate DNA/RNA chimera, click any of the two buttons given below, DNA or RNA to generate DNA or RNA chimera respectively.Under DNA or RNA category click on 'DNA/RNA Chimera' button to give input, required for model generation. The orientation of the input sequences will be considered as mentioned in the left side of the box. Click 'Submit' to generate the DNA/RNA molecule & information about the mismatch position(s).

Note: Under given are the points to be followed to give input.

RNA in DNA chimera:

  • Insert DNA sequences in input boxes for strand I and strand II (Only A, T, G and C).
  • Insert the positions in strand I and strand II, where you want to replace deoxy-ribo nucleotides with ribo nucleotides, in last two boxes provided for the two strands.
  • All position numbers must be given in the input boxes with either "," or "space" between them and range of positions are not allowed in input.
  • The duplex is built on the basis of ideal right handed B-DNA conformation with ribo nucleotides at user specified positions.
  • All ribo nucleotide are showed in a different color in JSmol window and positions are given at left side of the result page.

DNA in RNA chimera:

  • Insert RNA sequences in input boxes for strand I and strand II (Only A, U, G and C).
  • Insert the positions in strand I and strand II, where you want to replace ribo nucleotides with deoxy-ribo nucleotides, in last two boxes provided for the two strands.
  • All position numbers must be given in the input boxes with either "," or "space" between them and range of positions are not allowed in input.
  • The duplex is built on the basis of ideal right handed A-DNA conformation with deoxy-ribo nucleotides at user specified positions.
  • All deoxy-ribo nucleotide are showed in a different color in JSmol window and positions are given at left side of the result page.
Note: Mismatch pairs are not allowed at chimeric positions.
