CS 2010, Data Structures and Algorithms
August 2013
Midterm exams:
- Midterm #1: Septmber 23 - October 1 (to be scheduled during the midsemester week)
    - For practice, here is last year's midsem paper.
- Midterm #2: Monday, October 21 11:30 - 13:00 (in class)
If you have any conflicts with the above dates, please let me know as soon as possible.
Final exam:
- Final Exam: November 18 - November 29 (to be scheduled during the endsemester weeks)
Exams:
There will be 2 midterm exams during the course of
the semester, plus a cumulative final exam at the end of the course.
Homework:
Homework will be assigned every 2-3 weeks, which may or may not be corrected. There will be 4-5 homeworks in all.
Spot Quizzes:
There would be spot quizzes at the beginning of some lectures. Please be ready with one or two empty sheets of paper
for every class so that you would not need to tear sheets from your notebooks.
Grading Policy:
The midterm exams will count for 23.33% of your grade, the final exam will count for 33.33%, the spot quizzes will together count for 10% and last 10% will be decided based on attendance.
The grading would be relative,
and the cut-offs would be decided by the end of the semester. Please contact me if you have any questions about the grading.
Collaboration:
On the homework sets, collaboration is allowed. However, you must write up yourself and understand your own
homework solutions.
Any academic dishonesty on any of the deliverables, including the midterm or final exams,
will directly be reported to the DUGC of CSE department, with a recommendation that the
student who displayed the dishonest behaviour gets an FR grade for the course.
I will not be making decisions on individual cases.
