Welcome to my homepage!

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.
I broadly work in the areas of information theory and coding, with interests in security, compression and statistical inference.

Announcements

  • I am looking for motivated and mathematically strong MTech and PhD students to work with me. If you have been admitted to IITH and are interested in working with me, please send me an email.
  • Please note that due to the volume of emails that I receive, I am not able to respond to all requests for internships.
  • I am looking for bright and motivated candidates to work with me. There is one SERB-sponsored JRF position on locally decodable data compression vacant in my group. Candidates must be good at programming in C/C++ and python, and must have strong fundamentals in probability. Please see the official advertisement.
  • Amitalok Budkuley and I organise Theory Matters, a monthly online seminar series in EECS theory. Please send us an email if you are interested in giving a talk.
  • Hyderabad Workshop in Information Theory 2020 will be held online during Sept-Oct 2020. Registration is free!
