I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I am interested in a wide range of scientific problems, ranging from understanding how drops move on surfaces to large scale atmospheric flows. My students and I engage in theoretical, computational and experimental studies. I also run an experimental lab which houses some of the most advanced instruments to study fluid flows. To prospective members of my group: I have an opening for a PhD student and two MTech students starting from December 2020. I am always on the look out for bright and motivated students with strong foundations in fluid mechanics. Whether you are a UG student or a PG student, if you think you have the necessary skills and determination to pursue a serious scientific study in my area of research, write to me. If you wish to pursue graduate studies at IIT Hyderabad, you will have to first secure admission to the MTech or PhD program before you write to me.

PhD opening: There is an opening for a Ph.D. student against the call for an interdisciplinary PhD program at IITH. The problem provides opportunity for theoretical work and numerical simulations for polymer electrospinning, and will be investigated in close collaboration with Dr. Satyavrata Samavedi (Chemical Engg., IITH). This scientifically rich problem also offers scope for cutting-edge experiments which will be conducted in Dr. Samavedi's lab. We are looking for a motivated candidate who shows strong commitment to scientific values and is willing to learn. Candidates with an M.Tech in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering would be preferred, although candidates with similar academic backgrounds are also welcome to apply.
