I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I am interested in a wide range of scientific problems, ranging from understanding how drops move on surfaces to large scale atmospheric flows. My students and I engage in theoretical, computational and experimental studies. I also run an experimental lab which houses some of the most advanced instruments to study fluid flows. For more details of my research, please see the Research page on this site.
To prospective members of my group: I have an opening for a PhD student and two MTech students starting from December 2020. If you are a student in IIT Hyderabad and wish to work in my group, please write to me at hdixit_at_mae.iith.ac.in. I am always on the look out for bright and motivated students with strong foundations in fluid mechanics. Whether you are a UG student or a PG student, if you think you have the necessary skills and determination to pursue a serious scientific study in my area of research, write to me. If you wish to pursue graduate studies at IIT Hyderabad, you will have to first secure admission to the MTech or PhD program before you write to me.
Openings: I have no vacancy this year or the next summer for summer internships. Kindly do not write to me about the same, your emails will not be answered. I only have openings for BTech (preferably Honours), MTech and PhD students from IIT Hyderabad. To work with me, you first have to secure a position in our graduate program. If you are keen on learning some exciting new stuff and ready for a challenging research problem, contact me. Depending on mutual interest, you can either work on a purely theoretical, computational or experimental problems.
