Research Interest

As part of our research interests in developing new synthetic methodologies, we mainly focus on multicomponent reactions (MCRs), as

MCRs allow the creation of several bonds in a single operation and offer remarkable advantages like convergence, operational simplicity, facile automation, reduction in the number of workup, extraction and purification processes, and hence minimize waste generation, rendering the transformations green.

MCRs have emerged as a significant tool in organic synthesis for the expedient creation of chemical libraries of drug-like compounds with high levels of molecular complexity and diversity, via the formation of carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bonds in one pot, thereby facilitating identification/optimization in drug discovery programs.
