Spinux is our lab's flagship platform. It is a multiscale multiphysics model of the spinal cord. It includes neuronal biophysics from ion channels through neurons, synapses, neuron networks, Rexed laminae, segments to spinal cord. We are also working on the biomechanics of the spinal cord and a mechano-neural interface.
Using the spinux platform our lab investigates the structure and function of neural circuits responsible for movement. We also look to reproduce realistic muscle activation patterns in Spinux. The hope is that this will lead to development of biomimetic systems
We use our spinux platform to recreate pathologies and make patient specific models and thus provide analytics and solutions for clincians.
