It is a great pleasure to announce

"Five Days Workshop cum Certificate Course on MEMS & NEMS - Design and Fabrication with Experimental Hands on Sessions" from December 15-19, 2014 at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.

The workshop is partially sponsored by TEQIP. This workshop is second in the series of workshop organized last year in December 16-20, 2013 at IIT Hyderabad. The previous workshop had some unique features about hands on training in Intellisuite software and theoretical details about the design and fabrication processes of MEMS and NEMS. Apart from brief theoretical design rules, the present workshop is intended to give hands on (experimental) training to the scientists and researchers who are interested in the field of MEMS and NEMS. The hands on training (experimental) will include the design of simple MEMS/NEMS structures, fabrication of MEMS/NEMS structures using photoresists, transfer of pattern into polymers using soft lithography, and wet etching to develop the suspended structures. One of the major highlight of this year's workshop is inaugural keynote address by Prof. Marc Madou from the University of California, Irvine, who is worldwide recognized leading researcher in this exciting area and also an author of a very popular book on MEMS, "Fundamentals of Microfabrication".
