MEMS based sensors and actuators have become one of the important elements in the design of equipments in the field of healthcare, space, and automobile, etc. Last few decades oversaw the development of many sensitive miniaturized sensors and actuators based on nanoscience and nanotechnology. Such development has enabled the fitting of miniaturized sensors in remotest of the remote areas of either human body or automobile. Recent developments of lab-on-chip devices and tire pressure monitoring systems have encouraged the researcher to actively focus on developing many other useful sensors and actuators in the area of healthcare and automobile. To bring together experts working in the development of sensors and actuators in the area of healthcare and automobile, we are organizing one day symposium on the Sensors and Actuators for Healthcare and Automobile on 13th March 2014 at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. The theme of the symposium is to explore the MEMS-based devices in human life and automobile. This symposium will have invited speakers from industries and academia.
