A team of twenty nine students (Mixture of PG and UG students from various departments) and one faculty member as supervisor, visited Japan and successfully completed JENESYS 2015 inbound program (India 1st Batch for youth exchange in Science and Technology) conducted by Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), from 20 Janury to 26 January 2016. The program activities included visits to leading Japanese universities (Graduate schools of engineering in Tokyo University and Osaka University), RIKEN laboratories (Advanced Institute for Computational Science & Center for Developmental Biology), DAIKIN Industry (Air-conditioning and Refrigeration systems), Museum of emerging science and technology, and travel experience in Bullet train (Shinkansen). In order to have more enriched experience on Japanese culture and tradition by the students, JICE arranged one night Japanese home-stay and Japanese tea ceremony participation. In the closure ceremony in Tokyo, students shared their findings and learnings, acquired through the program with the group members and JICE. The IIT Hyderabad student team also proposed the post program action plan activities, in order to meet the long-term objective of the JENESYS program.
