N. C. Karunya was born on 1st March, 1986 in the city of Hyderabad into a family of classical singers. He is the only South Indian to have to made it to the finals of the nation's favourite reality show Indian Idol. Singing from the age of three, he went on to win a show called Paaduta Teeyaga, hosted by S P Balasubrahmanyam and in the process won hearts of many telugu music lovers. Till date he has done playback singing for about 60 tollywood movies among which are block busters like Chandamama, Ashok, Sainikudu, Chirutha, Arundhati etc.. He has even grabbed the prestigious Nandi award for his song 'Melukolupu'. His concerts in Hyderabad like his charity concert in hyderabad, concert at CBIT college of engineering's cultural fest were huge crowd pullers. He hosted television shows like Vijetha and Sare ga ma pa which got him closer to the hearts of the people of hyderabad. He has won the hearts of many youngsters not only for his voice but also looks.
